Touring with Mike Dillon could not be cooler!!!  We’ve had lots of fun, and have learned so much being on the road with Mike D.  He’s been an inspiring force of freak for us, and we are excited to keep the music coming.  Look for The Mike Dillon Band around you.

Sooooo… We would like to let everyone know that we have officially added the Sultan of Sound, Cliff Hines, to the band.  His guitar will rock you, shock you, and awe you.  We believe his addition to Yojimbo will allow us to enter a new musical realm of facemelting fun and entertainment for everyone.  So come see us this weekend at:

After 3 weeks of learning the road from a true road warrior Mike Dillon, we have grown exponentially as musicians, and as a band.  We are truly grateful that someone with as much esteem as Mike would take us under his wing and teach us the ways of the music business.  While on the road we made countless new connections with various clubs, recording studios, and producers.  Yojimbo could not be more excited for what the future holds!!

Come SEE us before we hit the road again in March! We’ll be playing this weekend on frenchmen and will also be opening for one of my favorite bands….BONERAMA!!

P.S.  We’re not just headed out as Yojimbo.  We are also hitting the road as The Mike Dillon Band!!

For those of you who don’t know who Mike Dillon is, I’ll tell you a little about him.  He is a percussionist, with exceptional skill in tabla, timbales, congas, and vibraphone (he’s extra awesome at the vibraphone).  He plays with Les Claypool, Garage a Trois, Mike Dillon’s GoGo Jungle, Hairy Apes BMX, Dead Kenny G’s, Critters Buggin, Billy Goat, and just so much more.  He plays a range of different styles of music, from punk to funk, rap to rock, and everything in between.  These will be some fun shows to see.

We are so thrilled to be doing our very first tour with someone we have idled for so long. Mike Dillon is the coolest!

YOJIMBO is now gearing up to go on the road for 3 weeks with the maniacal Mike Dillon!  We will be driving his great white van through St. Louis, Kansas City, up to CO where we will  embrace those gorgeous Rocky Mountains and maybe even be lucky enough to hit some powdah on the slopes!  We’ll finish off the trip driving through Texas, exploring Mike D’s roots, and make it back to New Orleans just in time for Mardi Gras!  YEEHAW!!

We couldn’t be more thrilled to drop our very first album “We Are Dogs”.  Our CD release will be January 7th Upstairs at the Blue Nile from 10pm-2am.  There will be CD’s, t-shirts, and even the brilliant Jacob Edwards selling prints of our album artwork!!  Various New Orleans musicians will be coming through to sit in as well as special guest SIMON LOTT, who will be doing a short solo set.

We hope you can celebrate this momentous night with us, and maybe even take our music home with you:)
